HLA was commissioned to produce a contemporary design for mixed use development on a corner site in the commercial business district of Douglas.
The proposed building houses 38 ‘crashpad’ apartments to serve regular business visitors with an option for a restaurant/bar on the ground floor ground floor.
The design takes advantage of an open space in the form of a church yard at the rear to which it provides an interesting backdrop screened by existing trees.
The proposal exploits a steeply sloping site to raise the ground floor accommodation over a basement car park.
