Sandygate House

Status: Planning Consent

The site for this project in the village of Sandygate contains two existing, linked cottages and a small two storey, disused stone barn. Planning consent had previously been obtained to replace the cottages with a single detached house. Our client was unhappy with this design and required something larger and more interesting.

The solution, designed in closed consultation with the planning authority, was to rebuild the original eastward facing cottage and then extend to the rear in the form of a linked cottage followed by the stone barn rebuilt to attach to the rest of the building with large area of glazing in the gables facing the garden.
