Port St Mary Railway Station
Client: Haven Homes
Status: Planning Consent at Appeal
This project proposes a change of use for a redundant late nineteenth-century steam railway station and goods shed, in order to secure the future use of both buildings. The station platform remains a stopping point for passenger trains and provisions are proposed for visitors to Port St Mary travelling by steam.
The opposing side of the station would serve its new function as offices, with ample car parking to meeting planning and highway division requirements. A stone goods shed is similarly proposed for change of use to office space. Subtle external additions and alterations to the internal arrangement were designed to maximise the functionality of both buildings.
